A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) with the objective of improving livelihood possibilities for farming, tribal, and rural populations in India. Through this partnership, marginalised groups will be empowered by utilising the technology advances of CSIR and the grassroots outreach of MSSRF.
The MoU's goals
In accordance with the MoU, CSIR would provide impactful and reasonably priced innovations created in its labs to MSSRF-selected organisations, such as FPOs, NGOs, and SHGs. These technologies will concentrate on areas like healthcare, nutrition, and agriculture that are essential to rural development.
The Function of CSIR
CSIR, renowned for its groundbreaking research in a variety of industries, including aerospace, biotechnology, and healthcare, will contribute technical know-how and tried-and-true technologies. The goal of this collaboration is to use inclusive business practices and innovation to stimulate economic development.
How MSSRF Contributes
MSSRF, known for its pro-poor and pro-environment stance, will help rural and tribal populations adopt these technologies. Through applied research and localised implementation, the foundation seeks to address real-world issues related to nutrition, food security, and agriculture.
Effects and Goals
In particular, underprivileged groups throughout India are the focus of CSIR and MSSRF's joint objective of developing a sustainable framework for technology transfer that promotes economic independence and community development. This partnership demonstrates a dedication to using science and technology to advance society and promote equitable growth.
